Any items that women use to “clean the vagina” can disturb these healthy bacteria, and give access to bad bacteria to enter the vagina. This invasion can give rise to infections such as bacterial vaginosis. BV infection might make you experience more burning and itching, making you want to clean more.

Now let’s discuss the “cleaning the vulva” part.

It is essential to wash off urine, sweat, feces, or any different contaminant in that area. What’s the safest way of doing this? Make use of mild bathing soap and water. Or only plain water is good to go too! Avoid anything that has a scent or colorants as these might aggravate your vulvar issues. Other tips for keeping your vulvar healthy preserved, involve wearing loose cotton underwear and making sure it’s clean before you wear it. Avoid using fabric softeners and fragrant dryer sheets.
