New Wi-FI Range Extender Setup

Methods 1: 

 

  • WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) setup.
  • By connecting it directly to an Ethernet cable via a computer or a laptop, log in to your WiFi New Extender. 
  • Confirm from the router documentation to verify the admin page’s correct web address. 
  • Open a web browser and access the login page of mywifiext.net. You need to type Extender.Linksys.Com login or 192.168.1.1 in your respective web browser’s address bar for this. 
  • Enter your password and username. 
  • If you have a wireless password (security key) set up, you should continue by entering the password or security key you prefer. This can be done easily via the main wireless router control panel and even from the admin page as well. 
  • Browse the “wireless settings” admin page. 

 

Note: The web page displayed may vary depending on the model number of your New Wifi Router. 

 

  • From the settings, choose the WEP. 
  • Over 64-bit, select 128-bit encryption. 
  • Well the greater amount of security for encryption is for cybercriminals or mysterious individuals to break in. Choosing 128-bit has the potential to reduce the speed of your network. 
  • Enter a passphrase consisting of a combination of random letters, numbers, alphabets, and special characters. 
  • Go to Network Settings >>> to set up your main computer once you’re done. 

 

Note: Every time you connect to WiFi, you do not have to enter an encryption key or password or passphrase. 

 

Choose the features of your ultimate wireless network. To follow up, fill out all your private and confidential details. You have to enter the key once after selecting the WEP from the drop-down menu. 

 

For all other computers and laptops present in your home or office space, repeat the same steps. 

 

Note: For any method, you must first update the firmware of your New extender. 192.168.10.1 New IP address for that visit.

WPA (WiFi-Protected Access) setup 

Note: You must follow the same procedure as you used to set up the security above for Ap.setup

 

  • From the Administrator page, select WPA-PSK at the WEP location. 
  • Pick the level of encryption next. 
  • WPA is much stronger than WEP and more difficult for anybody to crack. More characters with special symbols than with WEP will make up your key.

  2. The Netgear Wi-Fi Extender Setup is a plug-and-play system. It also includes a Netgear Extender Setup handbook that walks you through the entire installation process. However, the new extender setup instructions included in the documentation are quite difficult to follow for a regular user.
