Startups in India Committed to Creating a More Sustainable Future

At this point, there’s no other choice than to commit to growing a sustainable environment. With the increasing need for considering the future of start-ups in this area, Indian tech entrepreneurs are coming up with new concepts daily. We should look forward to the expanding number of game-changing start-ups looking forward to a better environment.

Listed below are some Indian Sustainability Startups you should know:

  1. Absolute Water – Each Drop Counts.

Smita Singhal from Delhi established Absolute Water in 2016. This startup is aimed to treat and reuse the sewage water by finding an eco-friendly way, rather than letting it get wasted. She adopted a vermicomposting technique, cultivating worms to consume and decompose sewage waste and provide chemical-free and drinkable water to households.

Smita further revealed the plan for the start-up, she said, Absolute Water is a total water management company with engineering capabilities to undertake and execute turnkey solutions for water and wastewater management. We’re aiming to reach the sewage water right at its respective sources. Small, modular units can be installed as a part of the plumbing system of toilets to treat sewage water in individual houses.”

  1. Chakr Innovation – Revolution Through Pollution

Chakr Innovation comprises a team of skilled engineers and innovators committed to improve the quality of life on Earth. How do they do that? – by improving the quality of air. They designed the world’s first retrofit emission control device for Diesel generators, which emit soots. Srivastava believes that the superiority of their technology sets them apart. The technology is even able to capture over 90% of particulate matter emissions without any adverse effects.

I would like to quote their mission here, “Chakr Innovation aims to create pioneering, sustainable and scalable technologies

to combat the grave threat posed by pollution. Our mission is to develop and implement innovative solutions that can effectively control pollution – saving the natural product, a retrofit emission control device for the diesel environment, and protecting people’s health. Our device aims at addressing one of the most pressing issues for humankind “the availability of breathable air by capturing pollution at source.”

ZunRoof is a home-tech start-up founded by Pranesh Chaudhary and Sushant Sachan. It is Gurugram based and aims to become the largest solar rooftop provider in India.

But what do they exactly do? They have solar experts who visit homes and assess the rooftop through multiple 3D layouts. They also have an app designed to help you recommend different possibilities based on your electricity requirements. Providing the highest quality solar panel, they also commit solar commissioning within 50 days of layout approval.

  1. EcoRight Bags – Eco-friendly, designer cotton and jute bags

EcoRight was founded in 2017 by Udit Sood and Nikita Barmecha. It is Ahmedabad based and emphasize selling eco-friendly bags. The designs are valued the most and are intended for attracting customers.

The brand has a global approach, launched in India and the USA via Amazon, has now expanded to other countries, including Europe, Australia, and Canada.

Millennials are a lot focused on creating a better ecosystem, minimalize carbon footprint, zero waste, etc. We have to agree that these ideas are hopeful and refreshing. We can thus look forward to increasing support to new sustainability start-ups in India.
